The nature of a promise is to bring comfort. Think about parents promising to take their children on the Disney vacation they have dreamed about for so long. The trip is still months away. The decision is made to go and the children are told. What is the purpose for telling them so far in advance? COMFORT!!!…

Usually things that happen naturally in the world, you do not call that a miracle. But things that happen beyond the comprehension of man are called miracles. If you throw a stone into the sky, it goes a distance and then stops and then it comes down. This is but natural. But if that stone lifts itself up, it is unnatural. Something that we do not comprehend is influencing the stone. But if scientifically you are able to understand what that power is, then you will not count that incident as unnatural.

We read in the Bible that Jesus walked on water. That is a miracle. But scientifically if you can find what was behind that incident, then it will not be counted as a miracle. But how our Lord Jesus did that, nobody has yet scientifically proven that. For none of the miracles that Jesus did, have there been any scientific explanation. Today also he is performing miracles.

When a stone is thrown, against the force of the stone, there is another power that is working against it. The gravity force that the earth puts on the stone is greater than the force at which the stone is traveling. This is the law of nature. In the similar way, when Jesus walked on the water, he put a different and stronger force than the water had in itself. When Jesus fed 5000 people with five loaves of bread and when he healed the blind, he applied a supernatural power on that particular situation.

When a person believes in the Lord and he prays, the supernatural power of the Lord is applied in that situation. For the Lord, it is a simple and possible thing for him.

It maybe a miracle for us, but it is not a miracle for the Lord!!

So again I ask, what is a miracle

Colossians 1:9-12

What is finding God’s will according to the word of God.

When we study the bible this we know a will of god, which is to

Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (I Thessalonians 5: 16-18)”

a) Rejoice Always – Even when times are bad and things are not looking good, God wants you to stay put and rejoice for everything you have.

b) Pray without Ceasing – Seek gods help in small things of life and not in the biggest problem only. When he is part of your smallest problems, then you establish a father-child relationship

c) In everything give thanks – Give thanks to God, not “for” everything but “in” every situation you are in. God does not provide evil/bad and not need to thank god for the bad situation, but thank him in the midst of that situation and lift him up.

Time after time, people have desired in knowing god’s will through the Bible. Questions such as

a) We have a caring Heavenly Father – As a father, God desires the good of his children. Like a father is kind to his children,so the Lord is kind to those who honor him. If you are “his child” then truly he loves you and knows whats best for you. So, it is important to keep this in context that his thoughts are for your good and thoughts of peace.

b) Do not do anything that the Bible forbids. If the bible forbids it, it is not the will of God. There is no negotiation with God on that issue.

c) Faithfulness in small things – If God has asked you to follow the basic things of life, such as do not steal or lie, yet you have been unfaithful in those aspects, then why should God reveal to you his will for your future. It is important to be faithful in small things, so greater revelation of God in our life is revealed. Many times Christians do not understand the will of god or listen to the voice of God in their lives, because they have been not been faithful in small issues

d) Reading the word of God – When you are in tune with God can you understand his will. Like a radio tunes to the right radio station to receive messages, we need to tune our lives to Gods word to understand and knowing God’s will.

Reading and meditating on the Word of god in your time of need is a powerful method in knowing god’s will.

e) Consult with Godly people - Another powerful method is to consult with Godly people. Take counsel from Godly parents or the pastor of your church. They desire your success and will impart you with wisdom in your situation.

f) Pray and seek wisdom – Praying is another tool for finding the will of god. God reveals his will through prayer and shows signs when you truly ask of him to reveal them.

g) Peace as a result of our decisions - The bible says that peace will be revealed in our life as a result

When considering between two options that you have been praying about, sometimes one of the options will give you a greater peace. That option is probably God’s will.

(Isaiah 32:17) states that -
The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever .
